About Shogo Shimiya
日本で1300年もの歴史を誇る「お焚き上げ」という大和の偉力。その美しい伝統文化を主要コンセプトに据えたBLAZINGシリーズが代表作の現代アーティスト。 「お焚き上げ」とは、「万物に魂が宿る」という概念のもと「魂が宿っている物」を火の神様の力をお借りし、炎によって燃やすことで、浄化、供養をして故人様や天に還す儀式である。
The power of Yamato’s own Otakiage (Japanese burning ceremony) boasts a 1,300 year history in Japan. I'm a contemporary artist whose representative work is the BLAZING series, which has this beautiful traditional culture as its main concept.
Otakiage (Japanese burning ceremony) is a ritual based on the concept that “everything has a soul” and uses the power of the god of fire to burn “things that have souls” in flames to purify and offer a memorial service for them, and return them to the deceased or to heaven.
尽显大和之力的“焚烧仪式”在日本拥有1300多年的历史。四宮彰吾是一名现代艺术家，代表作是以这一美好传统文化为主要概念创作的BLAZING系列作品。
“焚烧仪式”以“万物有灵”理论为依托，是借助火神的力量燃烧“灵魂宿体”，通过净化、供奉将先人送回天界的仪式。

闘剣､居合､禅刀道を無双館にて鍛錬し､演武会や過酷な試合により剣士としての気魄と闘気を修得する｡
剣の闘いで培われ研ぎ澄まされた洞察力と観察眼､更には美の新境地を睨む審美眼を以て創作活動に挑んでいる｡
近年､師より武号｢刃刃（じんば）｣を授かり､新流派｢撃刀（げきとう）｣を創始するに至る｡
代表作に｢BLAZING｣シリーズがあり､当初から｢別れ花｣や｢供物｣を被写体にしていたが､近年は｢お焚き上げ｣からインスピレーションを得て「万物に魂が宿る」という信条のもと｢魂が宿っているもの｣が炎により天へ昇華する情景を映し切る｡
シリーズに､日本人が備えている美意識である｢ぼけ = bokeh｣の概念を拡張させた｢MYSTERIOUS｣と､初のフィルム作品群で､多重露光を駆使して､時空の構造を含めた視覚的な表現を探求し､過去から未来へと続く時間､時､刻の断片的な流れの封印を試み､停止時間の拡張に挑んだ｢CRONUS｣がある｡
独自の視点が捉える｢ゆらぎ = divine lights and deep shadows dancing in the darkness｣を投射したエモーショナルな作風である｡

I have trained in the sword fighting disciplines of Token, Iai, and Zento-do at the Musokan training hall and, through demonstrations of martial skill as well as rigorous competition, have cultivated the fierce drive and fighting spirit of a swordsman.
In tackling my creative endeavors, I use the discernment and perceptiveness that I have honed through sword fighting, as well as an artistic eye fixated on new aesthetic frontiers.
A few years ago, my teacher bequeathed me the warrior’s name “Jinba,” and I have founded a new style of sword fighting called “Gekito.”
My main work is the “BLAZING” series, which began with “farewell flowers” and “offerings” as subjects but, in recent years, has found inspiration in “ritual bonfires,” depicting scenes of “things which harbor souls,” based on the belief that “all things have a soul,” being sent aloft to the heavens by flames.
Other series include “MYSTERIOUS,” which expands upon the “bokeh” aesthetic which the Japanese possess, and “CRONUS,” my first series of films, which uses multiple exposure to explore a visual expression that encompasses the structure of space-time in an attempt to seal time’s fragmented flow, in long, short and momentary increments, from past to future, and to extend this to stopped time.
The emotional style of these works communicates “fluctuations as divine lights and deep shadows dancing in the darkness” which are captured from a unique perspective.

四宮彰吾在无双馆修炼斗剑、居合道、禅刀道，通过演武会及残酷比赛习得作为剑士的气魄与斗气。
凭借通过斗剑培养、磨炼而成的洞察力、观察力以及着眼美丽新境界的审美眼光投身创作活动。
最近，他被师父授予了武号“刃刃”，并创立了新流派“击刀”。
其代表作为“BLAZING”系列。该系列最初以“祭奠花”、“供品”为意象，但近年来受到“焚烧仪式”启发，基于“万物有灵”的信条，展现借火焰之力将“灵魂宿体”升上天界的景象。
该系列还包括扩展了日本人独有审美概念“散景=bokeh”的“MYSTERIOUS”，以及其最初的作品集“CRONUS”——其运用多重曝光探求含时空构架的视觉呈现，尝试封印由过去延伸至未来的持续时间、碎片化时间的流逝，并挑战了停滞时间的延展。
他的作品以独特视角捕捉“波动=divine lights and deep shadows dancing in the darkness”并投射情感表达。
Formé aux arts du combat à l’épée Tôken, Iai et Zentôdô à l’école Musôkan, il s’est forgé au fil de démonstrations et de combats acharnés une âme et un esprit de guerrier.
C’est avec un regard et une perspicacité dont l’acuité a été aiguisée par la maîtrise de l’épée, et avec une vision esthétique tournée vers les nouvelles frontières de la beauté qu’il se plonge dans la pratique de ses activités créatrices.
Il y a quelques années, il a reçu de son maître le titre de Jinba, suite à quoi il a créé une nouvelle école, le ≪ Gekitô ≫.
L’une de ses oeuvres phares est la série ≪ BLAZING ≫ (= embrasement). Au début, il a choisi pour sujet des bouquets de funérailles (≪ wakarebana ≫) ou des offrandes mortuaires (≪ kumotsu ≫), puis plus récemment, il s’est inspiré des feux sacrés (≪ otakiage ≫) et, s’appuyant sur sa croyance personnelle que ≪ tout a une âme ≫, a commencé à mettre en scène la sublimation vers les cieux de ≪ sujets dotés d’une âme ≫ par les flammes.
Dans une autre de ses séries, intitulée ≪ MYSTERIOUS ≫ (= mystérieux), il développe le concept du ≪ bokeh = flou ≫, cher au sens esthétique des Japonais. Dans ≪ CRONUS ≫, sa première série de films, il se penche sur le thème de l’arrêt du temps ; il recherche une expression visuelle touchant à la structure de l’espace-temps par le biais d’expositions multiples et tente ainsi de stopper le flux fragmentaire du temps, des moments et des instants s’écoulant du passé vers le futur.
C’est une oeuvre saisissante qui met en scène le ≪ vacillement = lumières divines et ombres profondes dansant dans l’obscurité ≫ imprimé dans une perspective unique.
